This report describes the preparation, the homogeneity and stability study and the certification of polychlorobiphenyls, in herring (BCR-718). A description of the analytical methods used for the homogeneity, the stability and the certification studies are summarised and all results are given. The certified values with their expanded uncertainties are given in a table. Uncertainty is expressed as combined uncertainties of characterisation, homogeneity study and stability testing according to ISO Guide 35. A coverage factor of k=2 has been used. A shelf life has been established. A brief summary of analytical recommendations emerging from the inter-laboratory study is given.
