A The project investigated the fatigue behaviour of tailored blanks made from steel grades FePO4, ZStE340 and ZStE180BH. The results showed an anisotropic influence on the mechanical behaviour of the investigated steels. A link between static and dynamic anisotropy was not discernible. The fatigue behaviour can be roughly determined by static mechanical properties. A correlation factor of approximately 0.48 expresses the relation between endurance strength and ultimate yield strength at R = -1. This relation is strongly affected by material properties, thickness combination and form of the weld seam. A better specification of cyclic failure would be obtained by the determination of cyclic fatigue behaviour. Material softening by cyclic creep was found at R > -1 for all materials. The cyclic creep failure was below the expected endurance strength. The determination of a cyclic creep strength R(e)* would better specify the cyclic failure. Theoretical calculations using nominal and structural stress concepts were in good correlation with the experimental results. It was a base for the transfer of calculations to the complicated components. Experimental local strain measurements exposed plastic deformation, which occurred near the weld seam. Improved calculations should consider elastic-plastic material behaviour in the theoretical evaluation of results.
