  • Consolidated report on projects funded under research and technological development (RTD) activities of a generic nature and support for research infrastructures (FP5 1998-2002) [Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources]

The Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources programme (QoL) was built around six specific Key Actions that focused on immediate socio-economic and market needs. In addition to these Key Actions, the programme supported RTD activities of a generic nature with the aim of building up the knowledge base in identified areas of strategic importance for the future. Supporting the Key Actions and generic RTD activities were a range of activities such as support for research infrastructures, dissemination and exploitation of results and training.

This publication summarises the 290 projects that were supported under the "Generic RTD activities" calls for proposals, and the 54 projects supported under the "Support for Research Infrastructures" call. The projects are divided into six areas:
- Chronic and degenerative diseases, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and rare diseases;
- Research into genomes and diseases of a genetic origin;
- Neurosciences;
- Public health and health services research;
- Research relating to persons with disabilities;
- Support for research infrastructures.
