  • Air pollution research report 79. Stratospheric ozone 2002: Proceedings of the sixth European symposium, 2 to 6 September 2002, Göteborg, Sweden

The purpose of the symposium was to discuss the recent results of European research on stratospheric ozone and UV-B radiation. The opening session comprised overview presentations of the latest finding of the impact of aviation on the atmosphere, the latest results from the ODIN satellite and the plans for the VINTERSOL campaign. The following six scientific sessions were organised around the European research project clusters: ATUV, CORSAIRE, GATO, OCLI and SOLO. Research presented at the meeting included analyses of long-term measurements of the chemical and physical composition of the stratosphere, processes in the tropical upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, ozone loss in the polar and mid-latitudes, the possible link between the stratosphere and climate change, and instrument and algorithm development. Further analyses of the results from previous European campaigns such as THESEO were also presented.

The proceedings contain a set of extended abstracts of all the contributions to the symposium.
