  • 13th Workshop of Marie Curie fellows: Research training in progress, held at CERN, the European organisation for nuclear research, Geneva, 3-4 October 2002 - Proceedings

Marie Curie Fellowships provide European placements for pre and post-doctoral researchers, usually up to the age of 35, and for experienced researchers. Fellowships are available in any scientific discipline that contributes to the objectives of the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5). In 1999 the Commission initiated a series of "Workshops of Marie Curie Fellows on Research Training in Progress". The purpose of these scientific workshops is to complement the usual monitoring of contracts by an assessment of the scientific content. These meetings provide the forum for scientific discussions between fellows and senior scientists as well as between the scientific community and the European Commission.

The present workshop is the thirteenth in the series, and was organised as a "Special Workshop of Marie Curie Fellows on Research and Training in Physics and Technology". Twenty-one Fellows presented their research at the workshop (15 by giving a talk and 6 by presenting a poster), in a variety of subjects, ranging from theoretical physics and cosmology to physics applications and modern technologies. The proceedings contain the plenary talks given at the workshop as well as the contributed papers by Marie Curie Fellows.

The workshop proceedings are also freely available online on the Marie Curie Fellowships website at:
