This report confirms that operational methods exist, which can help monitor the development of mitigation activities in the field of LULUCF according to the presently defined time rules and over the specified reference periods. This report provides a summary of the most up-to-date findings of the scientific communities concerning land-use change monitoring from satellite remote sensing technology and describes their relevance to the Convention and Protocol, according to the definitions agreed upon at COP 7.
