The present report deals with the results of the pseudodynamic and cyclic tests on a cast-in-situ prototype of reinforced concrete one-storey industrial buildings performed within the Ecoleader research programme "Seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete industrial buildings", at the European Laboratory for Structural Assessment (ELSA) of the Loint Research Centre (JRC in Ispra. The research programme involved Politecnico di Milano (Italy), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), ASSOBETON-AITEC-ATECAP (Italy), ANDECE (Spain) and ANIPC (Portugal). Its main goal is to check the reliability of Eurocode 8 prescriptions as far as seismic design of reinforced concrete industrial buildings is concerned. Since the precast prototype was designed together with a companion cast-in-situ prototype, to be tested further on within the same research project also aiming at a comparison of the performances of both structures, an introductory chapter is forwarded in order to highlight the design criteria and the common features of the two prototypes.
