Abstract

The work presented herein is part of the Dissipation and ISolation PAssive Systems Study (DISPASS) project, financed under the ECOLEADER contract within the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Commission. It is concerned with the HYsteric DEvice (HYDE) systems, which is one of three earthquake protection systems investigated in the DISPASS project. The other two systems are Base Isolation and added damping systems. Prof. Sorace, from the University of Undine in Italy, was the coordinator of the DISPASS project.
