Abstract

The research project aimed at designing new concepts for cold-rolled TRIP steels in order to enable improved mechanical properties. Microstructure development and thus mechanical properties of TRIP steels can be affected by annealing parameters or alloying elements. Adjustmentof the amount and stability of retained austenite and the amount of bainite are decisive for the mechanical behaviour of TRIP steels. Therefore the main scope of this project was to investigate the microstructure development and transformation behaviour of laboratory TRIP melts. The project was jointly carried out by 4 research partners: RWTH Aachen, Sollac, University of Thessaly and ThyssenKrupp.
