Abstract

The aim of the project was to develop all the relevant parameters affecting the behaviour of austentic steel during the forming process.
To support the objective of the research project, tensile tests, forming tests and micro-structural analyses were concluded on six grades of ISO 1.4301 (AISI 304) stainless steel. For five grades, two solutions were tested, respectively, with low and high carbon content. The complete chemical composition characterisation was determined on all the available grades. The volume fractions were determined for selected deformation levels to quantify the strain-induced marten site.
