Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

In 2002, DG Enterprise initiated a Best project on technology transfer institutions (TTIs) in Europe. Technology transfer institutions, which provide a systematic and continuous interface between science and enterprises, are one dimension of science-industry relations. TTIs are regarded as important for several reasons, as they
- contribute to faster and better commercialisation of research results;
- improve innovation performance and accelerate the dissemination of new technologies;
- lead to better management of intellectual property and research capacities of public research organisations; and
- identify specific research requirements through dialogue with enterprises.
