Systemic risks and lessons learned, joint seminar in Karlskoga, Sweden, 20 September 2004
The Joint Seminar on systemic Risks and Lessons Learned, held in Karlskoga, Sweden, on September 20, 2004, was an expert seminar to raise awareness on the importance of addressing systemic risks in a holistic manner on the territory; to increase the sensitivity of risk assessors and managers with regard to mainstreaming lessons learned from disasters and �near misses� into risk management practice; and to build critical mass towards the creation of expert networks on systemic risks and lessons learned. This report describes the background of the seminar topic, and summarises the main results and conclusions of the seminar presentations and discussion. Proposals for further actions and research are also presented.
