Abstract

One particularity of Tore Supra is that the Plasma Facing Components (PFCs) are actively cooled, allowing research on long duration and high energy discharges.
During a discharge, the energy injected in the plasma is recovered by the Plasma Facing Components which cover all the vacuum vessel surface. An other large part of the energy transferred to the cooling system comes from the heating generators and auxiliaries.
