Abstract

In the scenarios investigated for steady state long discharge operation in Tore Supra, the plasma current is fully driven by LH power, implying low density and low current plasmas. This results in high temperature low density plasma edge conditions. Another feature is the stationary temperature of the plasma facing components (PFCs, covered by carbon fibre composite material-CFC) in the range 120-350°C. In this paper, particle balances performed on Tore Supra long discharges in order to investigate the D wall retention are reported.
