Abstract

One of the largest events in this sector, the 2nd World Biomass Conference has combined the forces of the successful series of European conferences of which Rome was the thirteenth, with the equally successful biomass conferences of the Americas. This global event has attracted 1200 participants from 90 countries, providing the opportunity to take a combined look at a wide range of issues, from research to development and demonstration, from strategy formulation to international co-operation, from social/economical issues to sustainable utilization of resources.
The Proceedings present some 700 papers selected by the Scientific Committee for oral and visual presentations at the Conference, covering a wide range of topics including:
- Biomass Resources: Recovery and Production of Feedstock from Forestry Agriculture Animal Residues and Processing Industry
- Biomass Resources: Pre-Treatment Supply and Logistics for Feedstock from Forestry Agriculture Animal Residues and Processing Industry
- Research and Development of Bioenergy Conversion Technology Systems. Thermochemical Conversion - Gasification and Pyrolysis
- Research and Development of Bioenergy Conversion Technology Systems. Thermochemical Conversion. Combustion and Co-Combustion
- Research and Development of Bioenergy Conversion Technology Systems. Biological Conversion, Biofuels Production
- Demonstration and Market Implementation of Bioenergy in the Heat and Electricity Sector
- Demonstration and Market Implementation of Bioenergy in the Transportation Sector
- Combined Application of Biomass for Energy Industrial Products for Climate Protection
- Economics and Benefits Deriving from Biomass Process Technologies, Integration and Simultaneous Production
- International Biofuels Trade
- Strategy and Policy Issues
