Abstract

The Descartes Prize is the European Union�s top prize showcasing not individual achievements but rather teams of scientists who have achieved outstanding results from European collaborative research projects in all scientific fields.
The winning projects share in the EUR 1 million prize money. This year, a total of 230 research teams were submitted for evaluation by experts - in six thematic panels - who selected eight exceptional projects for its short lists of finalists. These eight teams are in Rome to vie for the Grand Prize.
