The range and extent of measures taken by European Technology Platforms towards ensuring openness and transparency demonstrates that they are recognised as key factors for success. As European Technology Platforms move from the definition phase to implementation, it is more important than ever that this commitment is maintained. Cooperation between platforms and the exchange of best practices will help to ensure that European Technology Platforms remain open and transparent structures. At the same time, the primary objective of a European Technology Platform is to boost European industrial competitiveness. Thus, while industry cannot succeed on its own, it should remain the key driver.
