Report on the symposium on "Neuroimaging and its potential application to the study of food intake"

Funded under: FP7-KBBE

The symposium on 'Neuroimaging and its Potential Application to the Study of Food Intake' was held in Oslo on 22 June 2007 during the Sixth Annual Meeting of the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity. The purpose was to bring together experts in neuroimaging techniques, obesity and other eating disorders and investigators interested in the behavioural determinants of food intake in order to better understand consumer eating behaviour. Four presentations were given to present current investigations using the results of new advances in neuroimaging in association with disordered eating behaviours. The session provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue among multidisciplinary investigators from the European Union and the United States and helped to identify a research agenda with a futuristic view of the collaborative advanced research between the EU and the US in the area of nutrition and obesity prevention.
