European guidelines for quality assurance in cervical cancer screening

Funded under: FP7-HEALTH

Screening for cytological abnormalities and treatment of precursor lesions have contributed significantly to the substantial decline in cervical cancer incidence and mortality rates in Europe over recent decades. Improvements in the control of cervical cancer have been particularly discernible in countries, which have implemented population-based screening programmes with high acceptance of personal invitation.
This new and expanded edition of 'European guidelines for quality assurance in cervical cancer screening' includes extensive updates on technical details and documentation, assessment of new technologies, as well as comprehensive instructions prepared by a multi-disciplinary team of experts. The book is aimed at general practitioners, gynaecologists and cytopathologists.
