Abstract

This study is part of a series of eight studies aimed at assessing the gender impact in the specific programmes of the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Community for Research, Technological Development, and Demonstration Activities (1998-2002), in order to formulate recommendations for a better integration of the gender dimension in future research activities and programmes.

The objective of the study is to provide a gender impact assessment of the specific programme "Confirming the International Role of Community Research"(INCO) of FP5 in order to formulate recommendations for a better integration of the gender dimension in future research activities and programmes.

- institutional level analysis of the INCO programme in terms of procedures, people and processes;
- implementation of the INCO Work Programme

The study was carried out by the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen (KIT), Ansterdam (NL) for the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research, and is published as EUR 20020.
