Abstract

This study is part of a series of eight studies aimed at assessing the gender impact in the specific programmes of the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Community for Research, Technological Development, and Demonstration Activities (1998-2002), in order to formulate recommendations for a better integration of the gender dimension in future research activities and programmes.

The objective of the study is to provide a gender impact assessment of the specific programme "The User-Friendly Information Society" of FP5 in order to formulate recommendations for a better integration of the gender dimension in future research activities and programmes.

The study was commissioned by DG Information Society of the European Commission.
