Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This information package complements the various documents presenting and explaining the modalities of the European Community Research Programme on Industrial and Materials Technologies, 1994-1998. It will be reviewed in 1996 after the assessment of the pilot phase of this exercise.
The thematic network contract is intended to cover the cost of the added value of coordination rather than the actual research brought together under the network. In this way, these networks are an important step not only in emphasizing co-ordination and co-operation, but also towards identifying and clustering technologies around specific on-going and complementary fields throughout the European Union. The networks are expected to be an element towards the creation of new, prioritized RTD topics which could be incorporated within the Fifth Framework Programme.
