European Social Survey [ESS]: Monitoring attitude change in Europe

Funded under: FP6-CITIZENS

The European Social Survey (ESS) is a new multi-country biennial survey covering over 20 nations. Initiated by the European Science Foundation, its twin aims are:
- to monitor and interpret public attitudes and values within Europe and to investigate how they interact with Europe's changing institutions;
- to advance and consolidate improved methods of cross-national survey measurement in Europe and beyond.

This 6-page brochure explains the organisation, funding, methodology, timetable and planned outputs of the ESS, as well as giving contact details of national groups in the participating countries.
