Abstract

The focus of this presentation is how the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD), as the archive for the European Social Survey (ESS), have tried to reduce the barriers between users and the data by means of transparency in the data processing, integration of data and documentation, and modern technology in the dissemination of the data.

This is an abstract of a paper given by Bjørn Henrichsen, Kirstine Kolsrud and Knut Skjåk (Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD), Bergen, Norway) at the conference "Measuring attitudes and values in Europe" - European Social Survey Launch Conference, Brussels, 25-26 November 2003. Further details of the conference are available on CORDIS at: http://cordis.europa.eu/citizens/ess_conference.htm. A full version of the paper may possibly be available on that site after the conference.
