Fifth Framework Programme on RTD. 2002 Annual Report - High-Level Scientific Conferences

The High-Level Scientific Conferences (HLSC) activity is part of the FP5 Programme "Improving the Human Research Potential and the Socio-Economic Knowledge Base". It encompasses seven types of events: EuroConferences, Summer Schools, LabCourses, Workshops (small advanced study courses), PhD and Electronic EuroConferences as well as limited support for Large Conferences. The main objectives of the activity are the training of young European researchers and the networking of European researchers (of any age) working outside Europe. By the end of FP5, 729 projects providing support to 1158 scientific events had been selected for funding.

This report includes the details of the evaluation and selection of all the projects that have been supported by the HLSC activity. However, since around 20% of the events will be taking place in 2003 and beyond, a consolidated report including the analysis of all the events will need to be published at a later date.
