  • SMT, 1994-1998. Fifth call for proposals supporting document. Topic 16: Determination of the thermal resistance of walls (masonry) in dry and moist state and of a conversion procedure to get the appropriate design value

More detailed and more technical background information is given relating to this topic of the fifth call for proposals under the specific programme for standards, measurements and testing (SMT), 1994-1998. The objective is to carry out thermal resistance measurements on walls of several types covering the complete range of thermal conductivity, thickness, and moisture content of test walls to be measured in practice in European laboratories. The thermal resistance measurements are to be carried out on three types of masonry test walls, namely:

- Homogeneous aerated concrete;
- Light weight concrete hollow blocks;
- Masonry made of bricks.

A time scale and expected result format are also described.
