Abstract

This report is drawn up in accordance with the Decision on the Multiannual programme for enterprise and entrepreneurship, and in particular for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) 2001-2005. The Mulitannual programme focuses on new economy challenges to SMEs and constitutes a tool to progress towards the objectives set by the European Charter for Small Enterprises in the EU Member States, in the EEA EFTA countries and in the candidate countries. This report is intended to support the http://icadc.cordis.lu/fep-cgi/srchidadb?ACTION=D&SESSION=&RCN=1935&CALLER=DOCS_LIB (2003 Report on the implementation of the European Charter for Small Enterprises).

The report is the sixth report of its kind, and it summarises recent developments since 2000, covering 2001 and most of 2002. The objective of the report is to give an overview of the activities of the European Union for SMEs and present how the SME dimension has been incorporated in Community policies and programmes.
