The European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) is the body where representatives of the Research Ministers of the EU Member States and of the European Commission consult each other on matters related to infrastructures of European significance. It was set up by Member States in 2002 and this first annual report illustrates its main activities in 2003, covering topics such as Neutron Sources, Infrastructures for Marine Sciences, Free Electron Lasers, UV/Soft X-ray Free Electron Lasers, Nuclear Physics facilities, Facilities for Astronomy, Next generation colliders for High Energy Physics, High Performance Computers and Research Networks, and Infrastructures for Socio-economy and Humanities.
