Swiss Position on the European Commission's "proposal for a decision of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the seventh framework programme of the [...]" [COM(2005) 119 final.]

Funded under: FP7

Abstract

After having presented its position on the strategic orientation of the 7th Framework Programme based on the Commission's Communication, "Science and technology, the key to Europes's Future" in December 2004, Switzerland welcomes the opportunity to submit its opinion with regard to the thematic areas which are integrated in the "Cooperation" part of FP7 (p. 17-35 of the Commission's proposal).
This document is the result of a consultation with the major stakeholders of the Swiss research community. The consultation was launched after the adoption of the Commission's proposal for the 7th Framework Programme 2007-2013 [COM (2005) 119 final] of 6 April 2005. The invitation to submit concrete comments with regard to the activities presented in each thematic priority presented in the "Cooperation" part of FP7 was sent to a wide selection of leading institutions and organisations in research, science, industry and administration. In view of the preparation of the specific programmes within the Commission they were asked to either suggest important additional activities of European interest, comment on existing ones or make suggestions regarding which areas of activity the EU research programmes should focus on.
After Switzerland's general remarks on the Commission's proposal for the 7th Framework Programme, you will find a compilation of comments and suggested changes directly incorporated into the Commission's proposal in "Track Changes" mode.
