This study has the following objectives:
analyse and assess technological, organisational, social, economical, legal and regulatory issues for the provision of trusted and secure eGovernment services for citizens and businesses, and to propose a set of recommendations and approaches to address them;
investigate user needs, and user awareness and acceptance of secure eGovernment services, in particular based on electronic identity and authentication;
identify the issues and concerns and propose coherent technical and policy recommendations on the basis of 3 workshops in consultation with Member States and other key experts and representatives of public services sectors;
provide awareness raising material for key decision makers in Member States and other stakeholders, and run an active web site for information exchange and dissemination, on trust and security of eGovernment services.
