Marie Curie, European Reintegration Grants (ERG), Handbook for Call: FP6-2004-Mobility- 11

Funded under: FP6-MOBILITY

To help develop the European Research Area (ERA), the Commission has launched the Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP6). This programme will run from 2002 to 2006 and is the financial tool with which the Commission can put research policy into practice and also provide the necessary financial support for scientific and technological development projects.
Within this Framework Programme, the Human Resources and Mobility (HRM) activity, also known as Marie Curie Actions, has a budget of EUR 1.58 billion and consists of a coherent approach, largely based on the financing of actions for researchers. These will be aimed at the development and transfer of research competencies, the consolidation and widening of researchers' career prospects, and the promotion of excellence in European research.
The purpose of this document is to explain one of the 12 different Marie Curie Actions - Marie Curie European Reintegration Grants (ERG). The information is based mainly upon the relevant legal texts, in particular, the Work Programme for the "Structuring the European Research Area Programme". Text that has been directly extracted from this document is shown in boxes to aid the reader.
