CORDIS presents CRAFT research results for SMEs
A presentation of the achievements of 30 completed CRAFT projects, involving more than 200 SMEs, can be accessed from the CORDIS Website. Although only a few of the 920 CRAFT projects supported up to now, which involve 6000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), they illustrate the richness and diversity of the results that SMEs with little or no research and technological development (RTD) capacity can obtain from the CRAFT scheme. Co-operative research (CRAFT) projects enable groups of SMEs with a common problem, but with limited or no in-house RTD capability, to sub-contract the research they need to a specialist (called an "RTD Performer"). The European Commission supports up to half the cost, and, while the RTD Performer" is paid in full for its work, the results of the research belong to the SME.
