UK issues mini guide to FP5
The Office of Science and Technology of the UK Government has prepared "A mini guide to the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5)", which will shortly appear on the UK section of the CORDIS Member State Services website: URL: http://cordis.europa.eu/united_kingdom(opens in new window) It introduces FP5, the EU's Fifth Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD), as follows: - Programme to be launched in Spring 1999; - Up to 50% of research costs paid by the EC; - Help with the exploitation of the results of EC RTD projects; - A major opportunity for UK companies and researchers; - Many benefits of collaborating with EC partners; - Approximately £10.4 billion worth of funding available from early 1999 to the end of 2002. It then goes on to describe: - What FP5 will cover; - What can be funded; - Who can take part; - What are the benefits and disadvantages; - How much money will be available. It gives contacts for further information, including UK programme contacts and Community information and assistance networks.
