The European Commission, DG III, has published pre-information regarding a coming call for proposals for survey services and technical assistance services in the Official Journal, as follows: - Analysis of the development and competition conditions on digital information transmission markets inside and outside the classical information-technology market of computer software and hardware: 75,000 euro; - Study on the location policies of businesses: 50,000 euro; - European competitiveness report: 450,000 euro; - Study on the legal aspects of human and process capital in digital networking: 50,000 euro; - Study on the research-intensive enterprises and the impact of public research funding on such enterprises, taking into account globalization: 60,000 euro; - Study on the possible links between process capital and human capital, including analysis of aspects of technology transfer: 100,000 euro; - Specific studies on benchmarking as a tool for industrial policy: 200,000 euro; - Analysis of the competitiveness of the industries of Turkey, Cyprus and/or Malta: 100,000 euro; - Identification and proportionality assessment of barriers within the Internal Market: 100,000 euro; - Specific study on the linkages between research policies and industrial competitiveness: 80,000 euro; - Analysis of the competitiveness of industrial sectors in some or all of the candidate countries for accession: 400,000 euro; - Study on the impact of the Commission's decisional practice with respect to mergers on the evolution and competitiveness of certain industries: 50,000 euro; - Economic and/or statistical analysis concerning the competitiveness and/or the evolution of business services: 300,000 euro; - Technical assistance in the field of benchmarking: 300,000 euro; - Design and/or development of a database for the assessment of industrial sectors in an open European industry, taking into account competition and globalization issues: 50,000 euro; - Translation and publication of the European competitiveness report: 100,000 euro; - The development and/or publication of the new edition of "Panorama of EU Industry": 355,000 euro; - Study to define the relevant geographical market in a globalizing industry: 75,000 euro; - Five specific projects for studies and/or other technical assistance with respect to analysis of new developments, existing strategies, key issues, facts and figures, pilot actions, business requirements and/or cost-effectiveness issues in the field of competitiveness, benchmarking, innovation and globalization and/or other areas of industrial policy (may be launched together or separately) - total estimated budget: 510,000 euro.
