Radiation protection research 1992-1995 - Final report
The European Commission has published a final report of its activities in the field of radiation protection, in the period from 1992 to 1995, within the framework of the Communities' specific programme on Nuclear Fission Safety (NFS). The report, presented in three large volumes, provides a comprehensive account of the scientific progress achieved during this period. The 1992-1995 programme continued the already established approach of multinational, multi-partner contracts which have fostered cooperation between the different research groups and helped improve the focus of the research on specific problem areas. Some 102 multinational, multi-partner proposals were funded, involving 385 individual projects. The three main sections covered were: - Human exposure to radiation and radioactivity; - Consequences of radiation exposure to man: Assessment, prevention and treatment; - Risks and management of exposure. The publication includes the final reports of each project, presented by section. In addition, each multinational, multi-partner contract presented a single report giving an overview of the work carried out followed by the individual results from each member of the group.
