New halogen free reactive fire retardants

Based on the synergistic effects of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, a range of new telechelic cross linkable fire retardants has been developed. The incorporation of these compounds in various organic systems improves significantly the global fire behaviour of the materials without decreasing the level of mechanical properties. Preliminary predictive assessment shows no particular potential negative impact of these products on the environment or on human health. These new products are of particular interest when security is the major industrial objective.
