Laser hardening, cladding and alloying processes applied to industrial components

Laser cladding and hardening processes have been developed on industrial components or mock ups made of ferrous and nonferrous (titanium and aluminium) alloys. For cladding tests ceramic and metallic materials have been used as well as gases (gaseous alloying). The research aimed to improve the resistance to wear and to corrosion. Industrial sectors interested by the research have been automotive, aerospace, energy but the achieved results can be applied also to other industrial sectors.
