Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

SuperEH (Super Energy Hub) is the PowerSines’ next generation technology in voltage optimization and energy management systems. As an integrated energy savings solution, the new SuperEH Energy Hub includes the most advanced energy voltage optimization technology in the market, with and advanced and flexible embedded control board and a scalable remote EMS to obtain maximum energy savings up to 25% (23% demonstrated) with a cost-effective solution and an extremely short pay-back period (1-2 years).
SuperEH comes to the energy efficiency market as a solution that covers the needs for reducing energy consumption in buildings, commercial and industrial sites. Due to the nature of our voltage optimization technology, it is particularly suited for commercial sites in the restoration, gastronomic, food storage ad food processing sectors. Target customers of SuperEH are coffee bars, retail shops, gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants, catering chains, hotels, supermarkets, large malls, food storing facilities and food processing industrial sites. End customers and society as a whole will benefit from this product advantages in terms of energy consumption and CO2 emissions reduction.
In order to confirm the feasibility of SuperEH, after a three month study, we have developed the present document that checks the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of our project. We have analyzed the technical developments ahead and prepared the execution plan for the development of the new SuperEH modules and their integration in the new SuperEH platform. We have performed an in-depth analysis of the target markets out of which we have developed our market strategy and our plan for the SuperEH market launch to the international markets. Financially, we have drafted a detailed 5-years financial forecast which has confirmed the potential return on investment of the SuperEH project.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

In the past 3 months we have developed a thorough feasibility study to guarantee the techno-economic viability of our project. Here we present the main areas of focus and the results obtained:
Task 1: Technical Feasibility: We have evaluated the necessary engineering and SW development activities to complete the development of SuperEH elements with an estimation of the product costs and challenges for different power ranges and applications. We have prepared a technical risk assessment and defined mitigation and contingency plans accordingly. We have also planned our European product demonstration programme.
Task 2 Commercial Feasibility: We have identified our potential target markets and carried out an in depth market analysis, including quantification, forecasts, competition and barriers. We have refined our commercial strategy, our value proposition and our pricing strategy. We have planned our dissemination and communication activities and evaluated commercial risks, defining our mitigation strategies.
Task 3 Our intellectual property strategy: We have performed a Freedom to Operate analysis and checked the patent landscape to ensure no obstacle for SuperEH is coming from prior IP rights. We have outlined our own IPR protection strategy and planned the patent activities accordingly.
Task 4 Financial Feasibility: We have created an updated business plan that includes the evaluation of total investment, financial risks and mitigation strategies. We have performed a 5 year analysis on cash-flow and revenues and evaluated of further financial strategies.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

SuperEH addresses the reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions, a major EU and global challenge. The benefits of improving energy efficiency extend well beyond financial savings, relating also to improved energy security, higher productivity for businesses and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Approximately 40% of the emissions reductions required by 2050 would potentially come from energy efficiency. The installation of SuperEH will reduce the energy consumption in the range of 16-23%. Moreover, SuperEH avoids the generation of unnecessary electronic waste in two ways. On the one hand, it is able to extend the lifetime of electrical equipment by controlling the power, reducing stress, identifying irregular energy consumption patterns, as well as alerting and resolving safety issues. On the other hand, it does not require the substitution of existing equipment or modification of infrastructure to perform energy saving measures.
