Periodic Reporting for period 1 - CLOPRESS (Renal Chloride Chanels and Blood Pressure Regulation) Reporting period: 2015-05-01 to 2017-04-30 Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project When Yusuke Kumai, the post doc who applied for the Pierre et Marie Curie fellowship arrived in my lab he could not start immediately because due to the french legislation, he had first to complete a training to be allowed to work with animals. Indeed, the american certification he had was not valid in our country. Thus, he was waiting to a training course in english and was during this waiting period training to be able to perform the basic techniques that we were using in my laboratory. Then he was supposed to train after his summer vacations. Unfortunately, Yusuke Kumai did die accidentally during his hollidays and the project never really started. For this reason I can not really answer to the different questions of the commision about the project. Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far The post doc did train during the 3 month period and this preliminary training (western blots, immunohistochemistry, mounting of a microperfusion set for renal tubules etc..) was not followed by any real experiments since YK did die just before obtaining his certification to work with animals. Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far) This is not applicable given the very special context. acte-de-de-ce-s-kumai-yusuke.jpg
