Solar house daylight processing

When buildings are designed to make use of natural daylight, some importantproperties of daylight are taken into consideration, for example, illumination, glareand heating. In addition, daylight can also be transformed into thermal energy bysolar collectors or electricity by photovoltaic cells. In any particular technicaldevice only one of these factors is usually considered, for example glare protection. This project aims to study the combination of different aspects of daylight todevelop a multifunctional technical device. The main objective of the project is todevelop a shuttering system which makes use of various daylight processing optionsin an integrated way. A prototype of the system was built to demonstrate theflexibility of the system according to the needs of the various occupants and variable climate conditions.
