Exploitable results Development and industrial design of PV covered movable window blinds for indoor application The project conducted an extensive analysis of the blinds market in Italy and Germanyas well as a survey of the possibility of incorporating PV cells into the constructionof the blind with all the associated power conversion equipment. In parallel, thepartners developed a shading modelling programme which was used as the basictool to predict the possibilities for such concept in actual building conditionswhere window orientation, type of frame, type of glazing and even operatingconditions, modify the theoretical incoming radiation over the building. The projectfindings restricted the possibilities of application to windows with east to westorientation, low shading, and the use of aesthetically-pleasing support materialsconducive to indoor use.
