Energy-Environment Modelling in Central and Eastern European Countries

Exploitable results

The EC has developed a series of models and methologies which enable the study of the linkages between energy, economy and environment in the Member states and can analyse associated trends. These can be usefully applied to CEECs, but for increased accuracy specific country versions must be developed by in-country experts. The aim of this project is to develop new models for these countries and pilot their application for the integrated analysis of cost-effective energy supply and reduced SO2, NOX and CO2 emissions. The project also creates a network of regional training centres to assist the model development process, which is supported by a European Training Centre.
