Consensus building for sustainability in the wider countryside

Deliverables

Summary: Local implementation of conservation policies and programmes requires negotiation with stake holders. The research provides a methodology to analyze the negotiation processes. These processes involve heterogeneous elements: scientific models, field data, economic constraints and opportunities, social commitments and legal duties. The (socio-technical network methodology), from which the research is derived, provides analytical tools to understand - and possibly to manage- the implementation processes. But it is not possible to make technical (black boxes) from this methodology that can only be used in training courses and in consultancy services. The three teams involved in the project are open to approaches from all sectors to advise and analyze.
