Deliverables Design guidelines for DP vessels with use of RTEFE technology The report describes the three stages in the DP system design of a DP ship: initial, detail and as built. The required accuracy of engineering data and regulatory requirements is discussed for these phases. The second part of the report describes the effect of using RTEFE technology on the design process. RTEFE technology for improved DP The report describes the findings of the R&D work to develop, test and validate on model scale the RTEFE technology. Additionally, the results of full scale measurements are discussed, which were carried out to assess the applicability of model scale results for full size conditions. It concludes that the RTEFE method is sufficiently robust to be applicable and will improve DP performance of the vessel. Economic evaluation for an FPSO concept with and without DP The report describes the CAPEX and OPEX of a 1 million bbl FPSO for a typical deepwater area. A conventionally moored FPSO is compared with a DP FPSO with and without RTEFE technology.
