Apoptotic pathways involved in TSEs 2

With Partner 5 we used a new experimental model where recombinant prion protein was substrate-coated to test its effect on neuronal survival primary culture from early postnatal mouse brain. It was thus shown that PrP could significantly protect cells from apoptosis through a pathway involving PI3 kinase as well as ERK. This pathway might be important in TSEs.
