Langmuir-Blodgett deposition of amphiphilic dendrimers. This deposition procedure enables smooth coatings

The second technique investigated for the deposition of dendrimers coatings is the Langmuir-Blodgett process. This technique offers the advantage of depositing one layer per time with smooth properties and by means of a simple procedure.

Moreover the deposited layers are inherently compatible with an aqueous environment, facilitating the bio-compatibility of eventual bio-medical applications.

One potential barrier for the dissemination of this technique is represented by the low grade of adhesion between adjacent layers when compared to other techniques.
