Integrated IPv4/6 Voice over IP system

UCL have developed and deployed a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based VoIP infrastructure for integrated IPv6 and IPv4 IP telephony. The system utilises components from a number of sources, including Fraunhofer’s SIP Express Router and Mini SIP proxy, and’s Open Source IP PBX. The system provides for interconnection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Also a SIP conferencing server allows for multiple participants to join an audio conference. In addition an H.323 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) provides for hosting of H.323 audio and video based conferences.

The system provides for deployment of any type of SIP user agent including soft and hard-phones, running either IPv6 or IPv4. The management of the system is possible through web based configuration pages, allowing control over users and conferencing facilities.
