UMU-PBNM Policy-Based Network Management tool

UMU-PBNM tool is Policy-based network management architecture. It aims to provide a security framework for the management of policies in IPv6/IPv4 networks. It is based on the use of public key cryptography (as provided by the UMU-PKIv6 implementation) as a way to deal with the security concerns associated with today's networked environments. Policies allows the administrator of a system to specify the behaviour they want it to exhibit, through a set of selections made from a range of options provided by the designer of the policy-controlled component (e.g. network node).

Some of the features developed for this tool are:
-·Comfortably entry point to system using a simple Internet browser (Policy console)
-·Support of administration based on role, interface and template concepts.
-·Administration and monitoring of VPN-IPsec, routing and multi-homing.
-·Integration with DNSSec as storage of device certificates.
-·Extensible design: it allows the management of future advanced network services.
