Lighting the way to improved well-being

A technology that uses light emission and regulation to combat physiological stress has been invented, providing an alternative approach to wellness enhancement.
Lighting the way to improved well-being
Light has long been known as a positive force on people's overall well-being and state of mind. For example, it has been used therapeutically for treating depression and boosting people's energy levels. Now, thanks to a German research institute, the therapeutic effects of light can be used via a technology that can be integrated in people's garments. In this way the amount of light exposure can be regulated.

The invention consists of diodes positioned at strategic positions in the lining of garments worn on sensitive areas of the body enabling rays of light to be cast. There are several steps in the processes. First of all skin resistance is measured in order for the physiological level of stress to be assessed. Then the optimum light irradiation required by the skin is determined. Lastly, different coloured rays of light are cast on the skin so that healing, regeneration and performance enhancement to occur.

The technology has many advantages including adding value to garments as a result of their added function as well as improving the user's well-being sans the use of drugs. Furthermore the technology is integrated in garments that can be worn anywhere from work to the gym and is specifically tailored to meet user needs. Technological co-operations and license and commercial agreements are sought.
