FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY AND SCIENCE OF EDUCATION

Location: 7, Sindicatelor Street, Cluj-Napoca - tel./fax. 0264-597000

Web site: http://www.dppd.ubbcluj.ro

Responsible: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ziliana CIASCAI

Mission: The activity organised under the slogan: "Be a science teacher for a week!" answer the following needs:

  • combating the lack of interest for knowledge throughout science and technology, which is a characteristic of present Romanian education and society;
  • working together: students with special needs and students from the rest of schools for hand-making of the didactical apparatus;
  • endow schools for students with special needs with hand made apparatus in the frame of Science and Technology Week;
  • preferential use of recyclable and ordinary materials for making of hands made apparatus

Purposes:

  • making the university and high school students, teachers and parents sensitive about the importance of science and technology in our personal life and present society;
  • stimulation of students' interest for study of science and technology;
  • optimise the science teaching-learning process;
  • develop the students' creativity

Activities:

The originality of these activities consists in the use of "courier" method. During the preparatory activities the university students and a part of school students of the organising institutions (named here organisers) will design and produce a set of simple equipments using ordinary and recyclable materials. They are prepared to guide the making of this hands made didactical apparatus and to offer necessary explanations both for their colleagues as well as for students with special needs. In the first day of Science and Technology Week the organisers accomplish, in their classes, 2-3 simple equipment construction activities. During the next days, trained students will remake these activities in other classes and other schools. The organisers will remake a kit of selected activities, working together with special need students. All the hand made apparatus will be offered to special schools. The last day of the Science and Technology Week will be dedicated to the exhibitions, where the best achievements will receive prizes.
